FSX Mission Work Begins
After about a week of work I have made quiet a bit of progress on picking up the missions building language of FSX as well as defining how VARO will run future events. To keep things manageable I decided to setup the F1 course at Reno so that it could be raced in both single and multiplayer missions. Luckily the guys that put together the scenery at Microsoft included all of the pylons at Reno so setting the physical course was just a matter of going out and looking for the pylons. After all the pylons were found is was a matter of setting up the course in the mission language and tweaking from there. I still have some work to do before I would call the mission ready for release but the lap timing and scoring works like a charm. Below is a video I shot recently of a lap around the course in the default Extra 300s. The Extra may become the aircraft of choice for the track because its fairly easy to handle on the course and everyone has one, we may need to create some liveries.
