First Official Practice at KMSO
Saturday night we got to see quite a few pilots wanting test time on the new course. Certainly a pleasure to see the return of Roscoe and Crash Murdock.
Roscoe has been busy and Crash has been struggling with connection anomalies. Great to have both in attendance. Also flying was Sryth, Flatline, GriffonJET, Xasher, WTR*755 and GOferBROKE.
Two practice races with the Unlimiteds were held and one for the Pitts. Open testing followed. Your race reporter was behind the 8 ball all night and flew some awful laps. Some others were trying to solve a lag issue one of the pilots had. The turnout was great, though! Real encouraging to see all the interest in VARO events.
The details of the action escaped the scrutiny of the reporter as I had a personal "crisis" of sorts distract me right as the first practice heat was announced. I was following quite a flock in the second event as 4-5 Mustangs circled the course in fine fashion, right off my nose. Things were happening fast and not displaying player names kept me from knowing the order of finish. It was indeed a close finish at the stripe, too.
A few pilots had to leave and the Bipes were flown and crashed by many! Need to hot lap that squirrly sucker and get trims set and pilot steadied before a race! WOW!
Sryth announced that there would indeed be a race this coming weekend!
Hope everyone can make it for Saturdays race! See ya there!
