VARO Taking Major Steps Toward Eliminating Lag Issue
CEO Confirms New Certification Process
Big news just released notifying all racers of new procedures! To get us all on the same playing field, we have been very fortunate to have the services of Erik Thompson, CEO of West Coast ATC volunteer his time as Varo Support Professional. His extensive knowledge of networking and computer set-ups has brought to light many issues needing attention. Erik says, "We are racing against connections, not planes or pilots." His ability to monitor and evaluate everyones' connections while we race has made this new process an obvious necessity.
Pilots need not fret the new changes. Almost all of our PCs can benefit from the "tune-up" Erik is able to perform. Even those running moderate connections; i.e. dial-up, can be brought up to standards in a consultation with Varos' Support Professional. This type diagnostic service is very valuable and would cost an individual a substantial amount should they seek this information on their own. I'm extremely grateful Erik has chosen to volunteer his time and knowledge to all racers. This will take time and racers need to get an appointment for a one-on-one consultation.
View this as a qualifying session. "You can't go to a NASCAR race and try to qualify in a go-kart.", Erik said.
These measures may seem drastic and troublesome, but anyone that has been frustrated by the connection issues we have all seen will welcome the efforts. The "walkthrough" that will be enacted is a painless diagnostic session and you will be amazed at the expertise of our Support Pro.
Eliminating the issues hindering our racing has become the priority of Varo.
Read the steps outlined in the official notice sent out and let's get this program rolling!
